This reads on french and byzantine armies.
When John XII was dealing with the turks in eastern border, France had rebuilded its country, and now, with an new army, it was ready to attack. The army in Greece noticed that, and went to the coast of Epirus. Their infantry was good, and it would likely support their cavalry, so te byzantines needed theirarchers to overcome the french army. Soon the army landed in Epeiros, and it assembled, being ready when the byzantines come. They advanced, and were close, but the byzantine commander noticed, that the french centre was weakened because of the moving of the armies, and, when the armies begun to fight, he ordered his archers to fire at the enemy's centre. When the centre had became weak enough, his "latinkon" reserves attacked in there, and the centre routed. Soon the other parts routed, too, and the french cavalry, and it's supporting infantry, retreated. Byzantine cavalry pursued them, and caught and killed many. A second french army was defeated, and again the byzantine army proved victorious.
